I am not knocking it down, I'm just saying I find the programme too easy for me.

I have to pay back, most probably the tuition fee loan for the year I was there...

I still haven't heard, but according to the admissions office I will have my decision by next week. If that's like the "you'll have heard from us by february" which they told me in December (after sending the application on 15 Oct) I will know about it in a year or so *GG*
Regardless of Imperial's reputation, this is just crap. How can it take 7 months to reply to an application? It's just 4 pages...
I dont see whats wrong with you people. They'll reply when they reply, its not like they start until october

I don't know what was your case wais, but you should also take a look at this matter from the waiting student's point of view. Then you will defeinitely understand, that people get anxious and nervous if they don't get any reply. We all perfectly know we will receive their answer one day, but this day seems as such a distant future to most applicants
It's only just natural that they're like this, not everyone is overly confident with themselves...

stop trying to act like you are god. waiting for a long time is bound to get people anxious, and i bet you would be if this happened to you*.

*if you reply to this post i bet you will try and come up with an example of when you had to wait really long for something but you waited for it patiently etc. etc.

Huh???

All I'm saying is that I dont see WHY you are anxious. Waiting a long time is not a good thing, is not a bad thing. They have your application, and it makes no difference if they reply to you today or by the UCAS deadline (which I guess is pretty close anyway)

Well, seeing as the absolute deadline for universities to make their decisions is early May, there's no reason why they can't make you wait. You're applied to them, so you obviously want to spend the next 3-4 years of your life there. What's the harm in waiting a few months?

Actually, Imperial wouldn't be my first choice because I didn't like the atmosphere there too much. If it was an offer though I guess it could be my insurance instead of Bath... apart from that, I have some reasons why I don't want to wait any longer:
- As an international student I get very different offers from universities and although the school year already passed it would be nice to know what to concentrate on in my final exams. I can't work on basis of "if it's an offer, it will be AAA anyway"
- I most probably would need to take a language exam if it was going to be an offer. Uni's want different scores and different tests and since those test cost like 150€ and more I would like to know which one I have to do and when.
- I have to do a military test (of which I don't know the date yet) before starting my military service on the 1st september, and that could interfere with the date of the language exam, which I know nothing about yet
- I would have been able to send my decision since March if Imperial had replied back then. Other universities could have planed better that way ...
- When I visited Imperial in December, they told me they would look at my application in February. If you promise something, you got to do it because other people may rely on it.
- A world class institution shouldn't be such an unorganized dump. I heard from Bath within 3 weeks after sending my application, they even changed the course the day after sending an email about it to them. Plus I'm pretty sure Cambridge gets a lot of applications as well, but even with all the CAF and interviews and everything they reply to you in the first week of January.

Although the world certainly won't break apart if I don't hear from them for another two months I think I got some pretty good reasons for being impatient.

It's Master Polhem, he likes to show off on the net. I wonder if he is such a witty, straightforward guy in the real life. We'll see... and verfiy.
