ofc People choose to masturbate and people choose not to. I don't see the problem
The point being that it doesn't have to turn into some serious addiction that impacts your normal life.

    sure
I mean, there's scientific research to back that... meanwhile the basis for your argument is 14 century old scripture no-one can actually prove is credible lol

I'm making perfect sense alright Maulana Saab.

Don't get the cane stick out please.
    Hi MrsShortzee

Do you fully understand his question? If so, then why are you reluctant to give an answer?

    (Original post by MiszshorTea786)
If I said yes I will be refuted just like the greatest scholars (Rahimahullah) were.
So you believe that the great scholars have been refuted ?

Why are they "great" then ?

Yes, and it isn't difficult to. So this nonsense that Muslims spout about refraining lest it should become some life-changing, irreparable addiction can be dismissed.

you're strawmanning. the argument plantie is knocking down is the idea that islam forbids masturbation because it is harmful for one reason or the other. one of the points raised is people will get addicted to it.

speaking of which, no-one's mentioned that people that are masturbation and porn addicted are a minority lmao

    Peace be with you, Mil99.

I am not under any obligation to fulfil his requests neither am I entitled to answer his question.

Great as in their vast knowledge.

They were great in their character too, alongside it.

Only people that do not find the Holy Quraan credible is those that do not believe in the religion itself. So it's not ironic when Allah mentions it in the Holy Quraan.

Then again, what do we Muslims know about our own religion?

We are so ignorant, we barley know our آ ب ت nonetheless others have some sort of miraculous evidence that the Holy Quraan is not 'credible'.

belief does not make a source credible - evidence does

Sis, as far as I can infer she is referring to Imam Abu Hanifah(Rahimahullah) in which masturbation will be permissible under 3 conditions:-

    1.) The individual is unmarried
    2.) Fear of committing Zina
3.) Releasing sexual tension, rather than sexual desires.

Even then it is against practice as such in Islam is not deemed as 'normal' therefore in dire circumstances barriers have been lifted. This is because of necessity rather than anything else.

It's beliefs and evidence binded together. One can have beliefs however without evidence, one can have evidence without beliefs.

Either way, it's an individuals own personal decision as to which route they undertake wherever they end up at the end. (Muslims already know where they will end up).

    You guys are my fave.
Tbh though, there's evidence both ways. Though I cannot remember, cba to research it again. There's also no fap for reasons. Everything has pros and cons, then one determines for oneself what they want ygm. I wasn't speaking strictly from the Islamic point of view. I was merely pointing to the other side which shoud be mentioned too. Always best to mention both sides, even if it's just touching (pun not intended)

No fap is a phenomenon of weird internet sites, hardly scientific evidence that it’s not good for you. And even then, most people do not engage in the “no fap” crap.

The “it’s an addiction” is a pretty useless argument. Those who make it may as well stop using their phones and the internet, as I’m sure there’s a far higher number of people addicted to those than to self pleasuring.

If I could be bothered, I'd try find the stuff I found before but I just cba so I'll leave it. There was some scientific thing... someone link me if you happen to know and read this.

It depends how you look at it.

I'm sure the internet is far more important and more of a requirement than masturbation.

Also, I'm sure those who disagree with masturbation would also disagree with excessive or addictive behaviour pertaining to internet or phone or TV etc etc.

Well that’s the point. So much pointless sexual repression and guilt would disappear if more religious types were willing to look at masturbation as a completely normal and natural human urge. Makes no sense for a god to make those urges so strong and primal and then expect them to be curbed until marriage.

But why do you then continuously reply to him with answers or comments not relevant to the discussion at hand? Why not cease replying if you don't want to share your view(s) ?
