They don't advertise on the boots website that they do a free morning after pill but when I had a consultation the guy gave me a free one. The alternative is £35. Apparently it depends on how you answer their questions whether or not you get a free one so I'm wondering what/why that was cos I didn't think so hard about the answers tbh and if I got a less effective pill because of it that would be ****
He asked me when I started my last period (I guessed cos I couldn't remember) and how long my cycle is (again I guessed roughly) as well as whether I'm on any other contraceptives (I'm not) and if I'd taken it recently (first time taking it)

    any ideas?

If you live in the area and are under 25 some places the nhs will cover the cost , it ll be the exact same drug as the one you d pay for.

It was free for me and I was 30 at the time.

Some areas have it for free for various groups and some just have blanket free access to it. Some pharmacies will charge, some don't. It should be more explicit to make sure people know how to access it for free when they desperately need it/their brains are in a panicky potential-pregnancy meltdown!

Walk-in clinics are usually a guaranteed method of getting it for free, but Boots in my area offer it for free in the vast majority of situations.
