I'm not a student anymore so not sure if I should be posting here but, me and one of my best friends who I met at uni 4 years ago, moved in together a year ago. 6 months ago one of their friends from school also moved in. Me and my 'best friend' seem to be just housemates now, we used to hang out in and out of the house, now it's only when he needs a lift somewhere so kinda has to invite me, he's really nasty when asked nicely to do things, and generally treats me like sh*t. I've had to accept that this so called friendship is bringing me down, living in this house is feeling pretty toxic and my main reasons for staying (it's cheap, I don't know many other people in this city) aren't really good reasons anymore (I'm earning more now so can afford more, I honestly think I'd be less lonely with no friends than with just that one bad one)

I'm looking for places to move to, and hopefully it won't be long. But I still feel sad, stressed, and generally down about it. It's almost like a break up! Even though I know the friendship isn't there anymore, isn't what it used to be and we have nothing in common that we did at uni when we met, I feel sad about it. Anyone had a similar thing?

    Just get a studio/ bedsit.

He might change when you have gone, but at the moment no point living with someone who treats you poorly. If he loses touch or isnt bothered then your friendship has run its course. Once you have your own place then you wont look back.
