Literally every girl I know says that a guy making her laugh is very attractive and easily among the top 3 things they look for.

Is this actually true or just a false cliche repeated by females everywhere so as to avoid being called "shallow"?

hell, if I was with a guy who never laughed or jokes about, I can only imagine my life being deprived of any emotion.
It ain't cliche if it's the truth

Yup, humour adds more to the guy. Anything over a dry personality.

I mean, generally, when you are even just looking for a friend, it's nice to have a funny friend that can make you laugh all the time. And as for a boyfriend that's probably gonna spend as much time with you as you do with your bestie, no doubt you'd want one with a good sense of humor. But, personally I love pepople that know when to be funny and when to be serious, like I don't wanna be dating a clown, just don't be extreme. But don't be too depressed if you don't rly have a good sense of humor cuz if someone fancies you she's gonna fancy you no matter what.

Hate guys who think they are funny and make jokes all the time. Much prefer a serious man.

Well a guy with a sense of humour isn’t the MOST important thing. It’s one of the factors when it comes to personality. I do like banter and a good laugh.

It doesn't mean you need to be a funny person, but that your sense of humour matches up.

No that's literally my top thing I look for. It not only shows you're smart (because a sharp sense of humour requires wit and that's really attractive) but also I guess I'm the sort of person who makes fun of anything and everything because otherwise life is depressive and I want to be with someone who feels the same?

To me he has to be funny and can make me smile/laugh on a regular basis. I can't be going out with a guy who doesnt know how to a crack a joke or he is boring asf.

My boyfriend's sense of humour is probably the main reason I am with him and love him. I cannot imagine a relationship where you don't laugh with each other or aren't able to joke with each other. Sure, our sense of humour isn't exactly the same, however he knows how to turn an okay time into a good time and that's why I love him. That's what stood out about him when I first met him.

Humour is very important.
