    For a blue dye (solute), 2.0 mg of dye is found in 25 ml of water and 14.0 mg of dye are found in 18 ml of ether after shaking. Determine the extraction coefficient for this solute?

    After thorough mixing, concentrations of a solute in a water layer and in a gasoline layer were 0.16 mg/ml and 15 mg/ml. Calculate the extraction coefficient gasoline over H2o? What are the units of K?
