    I thought you were a school teacher, not a graduate lecturer?

    I presume you mean you have taught secondary school pupils some of whom have gone on to university and then graduated as engineers.

    I have taught hundreds of students in school that now hold an Engineering degree so whatever way you choose to interpret it the statement was correct.
