I am an American student who applied to Slaughter and May at the beginning of January and haven't heard anything either way. I think that my application was very strong and I'm a bit surprised not to have heard anything back from them. Is this normal/what should I do?

I know that their application is rolling and I did apply pretty late on in the game, which I know.

Before they offer an interview they could take up to a month, that's what they did in my case. After interview they usually take about two weeks before they come back to you.

It's been over a month for me, so that's why I'm worried. S&M is my top choice! I've read that others recommend emailing them to ask about the process, especially after being offered other interviews. What do you think?

Wait for it. it's not as if they've lost your application. pre-interview screening usually takes longer than post interview feedback. this is also one of the busier times of the year as law student's apply before having to take exams in june. It might come off as irritating if you badger them whilst they sort things out. they have a reliable online application system so they will reply.

You'll be amazed at how long some of the magic and silver circle take to reply--it's frustrating because they don't give a damn, S&M aren't the worst by any standard.

Sounds good! I suppose I was convincing myself that I wouldn't be invited to an interview because there's been radio silence from them. I should stop reading into it. Cheers!
