So at A-level I chose Maths, Chemistry, French and History because I wasn't certain as to the career path I desired. Recently I've developed a keen interest in the Mathematics and Philosophy course, but unfortunately, because I didn't take Further Maths at AS/A-level, I'm worried that I don't stand a chance of getting into this course at one of the top universities. Obviously I could apply for the same course at less prestigious universities, and perhaps apply for a different one e.g. Philosophy and Modern languages at Oxford, but I REALLY want to do Mathematics and Philosophy.

Is it possible for me to get into a Mathematics and Philosophy course at Oxford for instance, without Further Maths?

Also is it possible for me to take Further Maths at A-level by, say, dropping Chemistry and taking Further Maths as a 4th A-level.

Surely that question is a matter for your current school/college.

Having Further Mathematics is not a requirement for Mathematics & Philosophy at Oxford, but there are very few (to no) students on the course without at least AS Further Mathematics (and most have the full A-level).
