Hi I'm a mature student studying for CIM (level6) Diploma in professional Marketing as part of my continuing professional development.

My first assignment is based around carrying out an in-depth marketing audit which leads to a full marketing plan. The first part of this assignment requested 'a critical analysis of the current marketing intelligence within the organisation'.

I'm uncertain about which organisation to base my studies on. I have a few options but all would be approaching as an outsider and therefore I'd have limited access to information regarding finances, internal procedure, etc. and no details on profit margin etc. Given the specific area of 'marketing intelligence' I'm concerned about how I could evaluate this when I'm not part of the organisation.

I'd appreciate your opinions on how to select the most suitable organisation and how other marketing students go about filling in the gaps of knowledge available to them.

    Thanks

Maybe look up mckinsey case studies? im sure american companies would be the most transparent, or ask your professor/tutor. Obviously some firms dont disclose their marketing strategy.
