Is it difficult a level biólogy?
Hi, you have to be 100% committed to studying it because there is so much content, you've just got to start from the first day really.
In terms of understanding concepts it isn't too challenging, however a lot of exam questions really give you a situation you've never thought about and you have to apply knowledge so most of the paper is not direct recall. Also its a lot of experimentation and this is also apparent in exams, I can only speak for OCR but maths is also being increasingly apparent in exams also. If you're good at Bio and enjoy its a great subject to take

    hi

I do biology OCR and there is SO much content that you have to start making notes from the first day and if you don't, you'll fall behind.

I find answering exam questions difficult as the mark scheme is so specific that if you don't write the same exact words as it says, you won't get the marks! I finish making notes first from the textbook and from watching youtube videos if i don't understand something and then I start doing practice questions for that topic. Also, there is a lot of maths involved so make sure you're okay with the maths.

Also, the new a-levels are so much harder than the old ones so you need to make sure you understand everything because only about 15% or less of the paper will be straight recall.

But overall, it's a really enjoyable subject and make sure you do well in your end of topic exams too because if you get good marks for them then you have to spend less time going over them when nearer the exam.
