Probably history due to it having lots of content and lots of hand written essays etc it’s just hard but I love history so I have to stick with it

PE. Do not do PE if your PE teachers pick favourites. Do not do PE if you are so-and-so in the actual sports. They will bring down your grade. PE was the only subject I got a C in and everything else I got B, As or A*s.

I found history really easy in terms of difficulty, it's just really tiring on the hands copying out of textbooks nonstop

Art. Only C I got, rest were A or B. I would have taken Graphics Design if I had known. I enjoyed the first year as the units were fun and I had a good teacher but he left so the second year we had a way worse teacher and the units weren't fun at all, I lost all motivation for it so didn't want to work to bring my grade up to standard and haven't done any drawing since

just pick to your strengths- I regret taking Spanish and Textiles because I was bad at both subjects before GCSE! Languages are difficult and require a lot of effort, and I was never good at art!

Media - Only because I found it to be a waste of time, despite getting an A in it.

Choosing my options this year and I wanted to know...

    Hi,

It’s brilliant you’re making sure you get all the information you can about your GCSE choices before you make them but it’s also important to remember that you will be a very different person to everyone else!

I would certainly recommend taking all the advice offered so far into account but also remember that you might love a subject that someone else can’t stand; and the same is true the other way around!

You might want to try speaking with the teachers of the subjects you’re considering taking to see if they would recommend continuing with that subject at GCSE; as they’ve been your teachers so far, it’s likely they’ve got a decent idea about what your strengths and weaknesses are and might be able to offer an outside opinion!

At the end of the day, the choice is yours but it’s great you’re getting as much advice to begin with!

Good luck and feel free to give us a shout if you want to talk about it in more detail!

    French

Lowest grade, course was awful, got absolutely nothing from it (could barely understand French during the exam, got my marks mostly from guessing, understand even less now) despite schools pushing it, lying that it's for the student's benefit when it's really done for the sake of league tables.
