I recently sat a mock English Language paper and a mock English Literature paper and I got a grade 3/4 in language but a 7 in literature. I was wondering if I would have to re-sit my language to get into college. My teacher said in the previous years, they took your highest grade but she said this might not be what they do anymore & I wanted to know if anyone could help me out. Thank you

This happened to me. Language 3 and literature 5. My head of sixth form said it was my choice but most university do state they want a 4 or above in English language. For this reason I’ve decided to retake it.

Some of my friends were in the same situation. Yes you will have to but it's not a big problem because alot of collages try to help you. because you passed English lit it shows collages you can pass and put the work in.
I have a friend that didn't pass his English language GCSE until the end of year 12. so i wouldn't worry.

    Hope this helps.
