Hi i guess this is a bit of a rant, one of my flatmates dropped out of uni a month ago so its just two of us left at the flat now. My remaining flatmate talks non-stop, the guy is annoying af, he has a very geeky nasal voice that makes it even worse. I have no interest in anything he talks about. I try my best to just stay in my room and keep to myself, I've had to start locking my door from the inside otherwise he barges in, sits down and starts spewing verbal diarrhoea and doesn't leave. As soon he hears me in the kitchen he'll ambush me and start talking about one of the video games he plays or some youtube videos, explaining in depth. He usually starts off with "It was so funny right.." nothing he says is ever funny. The guy bores the hell out of me, I can't even go to the toilet to escape, he follows me to the toilet and keeps talking outside the door, or he'll wait for me to come out and resume talking. He also tries to start arguments over pointless things, he's the type of loser who spends hours on the internet arguing with strangers. I can't be bothered to say anything because I don't want to be rude to him because I don't want to make the rest of my time here awkward, luckily I'll be moving out of the flat in a few weeks. Any advice would be appreciated.

There's your issue. Expecting someone to know there's a problem when you don't tell them. He can't read your mind.

How do you tell someone they're the most irritating person you've ever met? I can't think of any nice way to say that.

Just tell him that you appreciate he is enthusiastic about his games and videos etc but you don't share that enthusiasm so you'd prefer it if he didn't tell you about them. Say you're a bit overwhelmed with it all and want him to step down a bit.

1'55" onwards may at least be relatable, if not instructive:
