    Hi all,

I have an interview at the University of Manchester on Wednesday for BA Modern Languages and was just wondering what the appropriate dress code for a male would be? I don't want to be over dressed or under dressed.

    Thanks in advance!

I doubt you can do either.

Just go smart casual. Wash your hair and face, dont be a scruff.

make an effort- In my opinion you can never be 'overdressed'

That's like saying you're making too much of a good impression

Don't do what I did in one of my interviews and turn up in a black suit with a red shirt and dark red tie. I looked like Agent 47 from Hitman.

Look at the department website for pictures of the staff or pictures/videos of students. Then remember that they’re in their best clothes for an official photo/video.

Generally - wear what you’d wear for a pub meal with your nan. Comfy but not scruffy.

If you wear a suit/tie/jacket regularly for school and that’s what you’re comfortable in then that’s ok....but don’t dress formally if that’s not your usual outfit.
