Man sucking a dummy

On the way home from school today me and my friends noticed a man in the car behind us sucking a baby dummy/pacifier.

Are there any logical reasons why a grown man would do this?
My Dad reckoned it was something to with people on ecstacy using dummies to relieve tooth grinding caused by the drug.

I used to suck/chew on a dummy to help tooth pain with braces. maybe he had some kind of dental pain?
also you can use them to keep ulcers from rubbing on teeth.

Ditto to the giving up smoking thing. When I'm at my parents and can't smoke I always suck my thumb or pen lids, or lollypops or spoons. It's something to do with your hands and mouth.

Maybe or maybe if he held the dummy in his hand the very nice policeman would have given him a ticket for not being in conrol of his car so he put it in his mouth for the time being.

Or maybe it was Tevez.
