You're begging the question: if this were "just the reality of a serious relationship", why in the **** would anybody—you included—even want one?

Is he a man or a slug?

"another huge issue is finances he NEVER treats me at all. he brought me like 2/3 meals in our whole relationship. he is always skint and borrows money from me. He contributes 200 per month when my bills are over 800. is this just the reality of a 21st century relationship or am I just old fashioned on this?"

"well I own the house u see"

The financial incompatibility between you and him is reason enough to kick him out of your house and life. Being married or in a long term relationship with him would be a stressful nightmare.

His lack of passion and empathy for you are further nails in the coffin.

And on top of that: "he Is very knowledgeable and quite frankly likes the sound of his own voice" How about him using some of that knowledge to earn some proper money? Or is he one of those guys that knows everything but does nothing?

You deserve someone so much better than this deadbeat and your previous 10 boyfriends.

You're essentially admitting that you're with him because you're afraid of having to go through the struggles of finding someone you actually click with.

It seems like you want us to convince you that your reality isn't so.
