Hi, I'm going to open a student account. My question is, can I take the letter that one of the universities have sent me, that basically says: "Thanks for applying for this course/we're happy to offer you a place...you need to meet this offer etc."?

Is that kind of letter in AS12 format? Or is it not acceptable for proof when going to the bank?

    Thanks.

As mentioned elsewhere an offer letter is not acceptable to banks. They’ll need the AS12 or your ucas bank code from ucas or a letter from your university confirming attendance.

You can still set up a bank account to use for student finance. But your bank won’t add student features yet. When they do your sort code and account number normally won’t change.
