it doesn’t look like the search bar has been updated? im still waiting to hear back from one university, so will it not show up till ive heard back from all my choices? should i wait or directly contact the universities i want to apply to? are people quick to snatch places on extra?

It’s not been updated yet, you’re not the only one not seeing it don’t worry! It’s a good idea to contact the universities anyway as they might not update UCAS straight away, no harm in dropping an email asking if the course will have spaces available in extra.

ah, that's good to hear. I did contact one university and they have places. I'm kind of angsty to apply but my understanding is I can't use extra until I've rejected all my five choices/been rejected by all of them (btw got 4/5 rejections, so it's not a change-of-mind situation), and there's one uni that hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Yeah i’m in the same position! I think i’m going to just withdraw my 5th choice and go with extra because I think i’ll have more chance of getting in that way, rather than waiting around to get another rejection and miss extra spaces.

good to see someone in my shoes! it was really disheartening to get back all those rejections as i had a strong application (it was my qualifications that were the problem, am an ib certificate student rather diploma). everyone else got some offer.

yeah..im thinking of doing the same. but what if i do have a chance of getting accepted? them taking this long ought to be a good sign? (and this is a uni that does accept ‘alternative qualifications’/has a widening access policy) it’s not my first choice tho. none of my original choices are anymore, ive changed my mind on them. i really want this course im wanting to apply to thro extra (chose it w mind of my qualifications btw, i do qualify)..but i dont wanna risk ending up with no acceptances. u know? i do think i have a better chance at this one though.

Same here, I did an apprenticeship and my training provider said it was worth three Alevels but it turns out it’s only worth two

Good luck with your applications, hopefully we both get some good news soon! :hugs:
