Hi everyone hoping someone can help.
I’m hoping to apply to study with the Open Uni starting later this year. However I can only do this if my course is funded.
Many years ago I started a criminology degree but left after only one month - course was funded. From what I’ve read it seems I might still be eligible for some funding now but they deduct one years worth of funding for each partial or full year of previous funding and then add a year? So I would possibly get 3 years worth of funding. Think I’ve got this correct, however my question is if I was studying through open uni I would be part time so most likely to be studying for 6 years - do they base the funding on the equivalent of full time study costs (so I would get funding for the 6 years) or literally my costs for part time study just for the 3 years?
Also if I applied to uni and then student finance declined my application I presume I can then decline my place on the course? I wouldn’t want to be committed to paying the fees with no funding in place,

    Thank you in advance

    ETtogo,

As you have not gained a qualification your entitlement will not be affected and you will be eligible to receive a maximum of 16 years funding, you are unable to apply online or on paper until application has launched. Please check our websites and social media channels for updates.

    Thanks

    Catherine
