The charge at C is now replaced with a negative charge of the same size

For question 5 my logic was that the charge will cancel out between B&C so it would have to be B or D. Then I thought that the electric field between B and the midpoint would be negative as it is against the line AD. But I am not sure why it is initially positive or why it ends as negative.
Question 6 my logic was that electric potential needs to be positive between two positive charges. However, I am not sure why it is at a minimum at B/C.
No clue on Q7 or Q8, any help would be appreciated.
