Hi, so basically, my friend who is in year 12 this year doesnt really care about studying etc, he mostly smokes weed and thats it. He does A-Levels and i basically had to choose the subjects for him, he comes from a very wealthy family but he isn't really ****ed to do anything as he can rely on his family worst case. He's interseted in psychedelics (wastes hours watching documentaries on drugs etc) but he doesnt do chemistry because he's not good at school and chem is a hard subject and so as he doesnt do it he wont be able to do a lot of stuff thats got to do with psychedelics, at least i think. So my problem here is: As he only enjoyes kinda drug/mind alterating topics what can he do at uni? His sister used to be like him and didn't end up going to uni now she just stays in the house all day long, shes depressed, feels useless etc, thats why were trying to push him to do something with his life but he'll only do stuff he likes, related to the stuff above.

I hope this makes sense, we're basically trying to find him a degree he'll enjoy and than hopefully he'll find a meaning in life/a job he likes.

    Please let me know <3

Maybe neuroscience? Pharmacology or Biochemistry will probably both require chemistry but if he's got biology then neuroscience might be an option?

What about (in terms of job aspirations) if he can realise what has happen to his sister, and the effects of drug use, perhaps he can turn it into a positive. I'm not suggesting he turns into the real like Breaking Bad or whatever, but maybe he can take a psychology course and perhaps focus on how drugs affect one's mental health. Or even do that as an EPQ option if he's doing one/hasn't done one yet.
And even then, if he realises what he's doing perhaps then he'll slow down.
