im so upset, I just got rejected by UCL on Friday, and was rejected by imperial in December for medicine, and I just am so upset, I really wanted to go there it had such nice atmosphere and course and I really don't know what to do, I know this post will sound so stupid but I just want an interview and I don't want to reapply, or do biomedical or something, I wouldn't even mind going there for a different course like biochemistry or something, what can I do??? could I email them or stalk down lecturer and ask them to pull some weight. I know this sounds stupid and no ones going to reply, but I actually have really good GCSES and A level predictions so I don't know what went wrong other than my s1 bmat. I hate knowing that my last avenue is closed and I didn't even get an interview, and I'm sick of hearing everything will be ok in the long run.

im also angry cuz I know 2 people with offers there for other courses and I wish that was me - Id even do an art degree or something I just want to go to UCL
You'd rather do an Art degree at UCL than something actually related to Medicine (like Biomed)? Somehow I suspect your commitment to being a Doctor is unlikely to have shone through in your applications.

You sound like a spoilt brat. It's been three days since you were rejected. Get over it, and learn to use full stops.

No need to be so rude.

You could always try asking the university if they'd allow you to apply for biomedicine instead. Might be worth a try but don't expect to get anywhere. What other options do you have? Maybe at the very least try to find out why they rejected you if you think that the closure will help you.

Personally I feel if you're not dedicated enough to take a year out if it means working on your application and getting good enough to get in for medicine then, well, you shouldn't be doing medicine. But hey, that's just me. UCL's a great university, but it's not the only great one in the country - what are your A Level subjects and predicted grades? How's your extracurricular?

did you actually even read what I said before replying??????

I meant I don't want to do a gap year and reapply, but I would happily do biochemistry or another MEDICAL RELATED degree, just because I love the university so much, and yeah I like art, so I wouldn't mind doing an art degree. I don't believe you can't want to be a doctor and not have other interests, so calm down with your judgementalness.

Also how do I sound spoilt, I said multiple times I know this question would sound stupid, but I think working really hard most of my life to get into a good university and then being rejected gives me enough reason to be upset for a couple days and want to fix the situation.

Yes, of course I read what you said: "I know this post will sound so stupid but I just want an interview and I don't want to reapply, or do biomedical or something..."

You said you don't want to do biomed. If that is not what you meant, then besides learning to use punctuation, you actually need to learn how to write.

You mentioned being rejected by Imperial. That leaves 2 other Medicine unis, no? In which case, I am entirely right in pointing out how ridiculous it is that you would rather abandon your hopes of becoming a doctor and do an Art degree than go elsewhere to do Medicine.

University is about the degree, not the atmosphere. As much fun as you'll have, it'll never make up for not studying the degree you want to. Not to mention that your current perception of UCL/Imperial is based on an idealistic view, you have no idea what any university would truly be like.

Surely you have 2 other medicine applications left to hear from? You should be more concerned about getting on the course you want, worry about the university and its atmosphere later.

If you don't have any other medical schools to hear from & you really don't want to reapply then you could consider applying to another degree at UCL/Imperial, check if there are any vacancies on UCAS or you could even email them and explain that you'd like to be considered for another course if possible. DO NOT ask someone to 'pull some weight'.

p.s. this is not an attack, you wrote "I'm sick of hearing everything will be ok in the long run." so I'm giving you an objective response

Hey UCL isn't the only good med uni out there! I know it was your top choice but I'm sure you'll like other unis as well and in the end you'll get your degree. If you dont get in to your other unis you could just reapply after achieving your grades, I wouldn't take 3 years just ro reapply for grad entry bc thats even more competitive and a waste fo time
