I'm currently studying an Acess to higher education foundation degree at london metropolitan. I always knew I wanted to study law but never realised how important it was to graduate from a russell group university. Even though the Mayor of London graduated with a law degree from London met I DO NOT WANT TO BE A GRADUATE OF LONDON MET, I don't really want this uni attached to my name. Basically I was just wondering if it was possible to get into a Russell group university from studying a foundation degree? I'm assuming if I got top marks in every module in my foundation degree It may give me a chance to study at a Russell group? and Which Russell group uni's are considered most "lenient" ? PLEASE HELP ME!

Are you on an Access Diploma, a Foundation Degree or a Foundation Year?

You need to find out which type of course you’re on and then contact the universities you’re interested in. If they’re encouraging you apply through ucas. The deadline for first year entry was over a month ago so you might be too late.

There’s only 20 universities in the Russell Group and they don’t all offer law so it shouldn’t take you long to ring them.

Sorry I wasn’t really clear, it’s a foundation year (year 0) so I will receive a foundation certificate at the end of it

Thank you, and seeing as it’s definitely too late Do you think I should just wait to call them after I’ve completed my course and received my certificate to apply through clearing?

I would call asap. Clearing isn't a great time to be waiting for them to assess whether your foundation year is suitable preparation for the course.
