Should I go to my GP?

I've had an ongoing ache in my foot now for months now I think it started after a night out in January but I can't be certain. Anyways at first I thought it was a sprain but the pain is ongoing and has got worse if anything instead of better I've tried ice packs, keeping it up etc and there's been no obvious injury it's not swollen and was never bruised. I don't want to feel like I'm wasting my gp's time when it's probably nothing but it's annoying because if I stand for too long or move my toes upwards that's when it hurts the most. Will I be wasting their time?
'Better be safe than sorry'.

Remember, we pay taxes for the NHS.

Go.

I know I answered my own question with this post! Still feel guilty when something's not hanging off though!
