Recently read a post about by TSR about gap years but it was quite focused on post A-Levels.

What about people who are in apprenticeships... is it a smart idea to do a gap year then.

And then after the gap year go back into work or maybe have a look at some universities?

Gap year is just a year out as a break or to figure out what you wish to do. If you want to get it past your parents, then its better you have it planned out. They might see it as a year bumming around. Take one if you need one. Dont go to uni unless you are sure you know you want to and know what benefit it will be.

Try and pick a good apprenticeship, some are good and others are poor.
