I have been told that I should be getting an ID to show that I am nearly 16. I haven't been sent a letter yet and I was wondering who I should contact to get this sorted out.

Who told you that? I don't think there's just some kind of ID card you get to show your age. Use a passport or something.

There is no National Identity Card scheme in the UK... So why would you be sent a letter?

If you want a form of identification, apply for a provisional licence. It's better than the crappy PASS Hologram cards.

A letter? You might be thinking of your National Insurance number. It's not a proof of age.

Definitely national insurance card - just means you get to pay national insurance and tax when you start work, if you earn over a certain amount

Ahhhh if only it were a card... It's just a plain old letter from HMRC with the number on it these days
