It’s my weakest link currently (first year Electrical and Electronic engineering at University of Brighton) and having bad maths skills won’t get me practically anywhere in both my degree, and in the industry.

If your weakness is mainly regarding the use and memorisation of the formulae, then I would advise practising more - do more tutorial question and papers where you use the formulae, and via more exposure you'll remember them better.

But what sort of formulas are we talking here? Most of the formulae you're likely to come across at degree level rely more on an understanding of the more fundamental principles rather than on being able to memorise them. If they require more, then I would imagine you would be provided with them in a formulae sheet or something.
