After a tough previous year and being talked out of a levels. This academic year I wanted to give a levels a shot as photography was the only thing I had a true passion for. And before anyone says, I am fully aware how difficult A levels are and they’re a massive step bla bla, I know I’ve already had 2 breakdowns. Our photography course started with an introductory course where we studied two artists that did nothing related to photography and did a piece of art work at the end of it (not a photoshoot, a painting/abstract thing) the lecturer dragged this out from September up to Christmas! He has been very inconsistent with his ways of teaching and he’s now started to panic because we only have 7 weeks left. I understand it isn’t all about the teacher, and you have to be more independent. But my whole class feels the same way so it can’t be just me blaming my failure on him! I am really disappointed because I feel I haven’t been able to truly express my ability in this course due to a lack of direction. When looking at other colleges photography courses they have two sketchbooks worth of stuff, I have one third! Am I in the wrong here? What can I do to boost my grades? One stressed girl here!

Do you have a course director or someone that’s above this lecturer? I’d speak to them to voice your concerns before it’s too late to do anything about it
