Insomnia at uni

Hi all,

Ive been really struggling lately with insomnia and hoping to get an emergency appointment tomorrow. I just feel like I will fail this year for something which isnt under my control, and I cant help.

Is this a reason for compelling personal reasons?

Thanks for any replies,

Alex
Absolutely - make sure you get a short letter from the hospital when you visit A & E tomorrow - that should be sufficient evidence {assuming the doctor takes a good clinical history of the insomnia (how frequent, whether it is difficult to fall off to sleep or whether you wake up at 3 am + whether you sleep and wake numerous times through the night, any other symptoms suggestive of e.g. stress such as anorexia (= reduced appetite [a symptom] NOT TO BE CONFUSED with anorexia nervosa [a specific condition]) as most people do), mood change, etc.)} to show your uni dept tutor as corroboration of extenuating circumstances.

You might be able to secure a later exam for you to recover and/or prepare for longer.
