Hello everybody, I have done the international GCSEs (IGCSEs) amd want to get some context as to how they may be viewed by different medical schools amd how they compare to other medical applicants.
I got 7A*s for 7 subjects, and that's because my school only offered 7 subjects to be taught for GCSE.
I am wondering whether medical schools will consider the fact that my school only offered 7 subjects or not

some med schools don't rank highly on GCSEs and don't care if you don't get accepted on them you can apply the next year with your alevel grades and they don't look at GCSE ones especially unis like Cardiff

It depends on the medical school as some rank GCSEs more highly than others. For example, UEA (where I study) looks at your top 9 so having 14 vs 9 wouldn't make any difference. My advice would be to look at individual medical school entry requirements and if unsure ring up/email their admissions to see if you would be at any disadvantage.
