Basically I’m moving to Canada from the UK this week and I was wondering what I would do there education-wise. I am 15 and I’m supposed to be doing my GCSEs in a few months but I’m leaving. I researched the Canadian school curriculum but it was quite difficult to understand. I’m still not sure about the education system. A friend of mine also mentioned international GCSEs I was wondering what they are and how I apply for them to finish my GCSEs in Canada if possible.

Couldnt be at a worse time and a shame your parents wont let you sit your GCSEs.

You can switch to IGCSE, but different exam board and youd have to manage the change.

Cambridge are the major providers and you either find a school or study yourself then sit the exams. You will also need to find a test centre.

Edexcel Pearson do similar but they are smaller. If you have been studying Edexcel then maybe a switch to their IGCSE would be smoother.

Your alternative is to just join the Canadian system and start again.
