Don't let anybody ever tell you that you're not good enough - use that as motivation and show them what you can really do! Remember UNIQ has no bearing on the admissions process for the university, things like subject applitude tests and interviews will be far more important.

As somebody who wants to study history, I share your frustration at the lack of opportunities compared to engineering / physics / medicine. Why don't you have a look at Sutton Trust Summer Schools - loads of great universities on there such as Cambridge, Edinburgh. Which ones you can apply for depends on what subject your're looking at. Don't give up on that dream - you'll get there!
I’m pretty sure that I’ve applied for Sutton Trust but I’m not sure, so I’ll check. I know that there are plenty of people who didn’t go to UNIQ but get into Oxford.

You’re right about medicine too. Loads of opportunities for them. For chemistry, our school offers the Chemistry Olympiad (which isn’t done until A2 anyways), the Cambridge Chemistry challenge and a practical competition (which I somehow wasn’t picked for?). Three things. There are more general STEM ones, but chemistry rarely gets an exclusive event unlike physics and engineering. Medicine get a lot of adverts for all kinds of things. Medicine have their own CLUB, for crying out loud.

I’m just going to apply to the Nuffield Program and organise work experience for July, I think (since I have to do that now to get any kind of placement).

That sounds great to me bookloverlolly

Everyone has different setbacks along the way, you sound like you've got plenty in the pipeline that you can apply for. Just keep plugging away!

I know University of Bath offer science and engineering summer school courses too. Maybe worth a look at.

...That's more than my school offers lol. You will be fine even if you didn't do any olympiads (as not all schools offer them, and they know very well of this). Some further reading is perfectly sufficient, which doesn't require anything exclusive. The interview, admissions assessment and your grades are what really matter. The supercurriculars are not at the same level of importance, and you're not 'graded' or 'scored' on the quality or quantity of it, unlike you are with the 3 former things.

Don't worryyy, you'll be fine. There'll always be more opportunities, just stay optimistic and when doing your Sutton trust personal statement, get a teacher that specialises in the subject you chose to go through it and edit it. Wishing you the best
    There’s a personal statement?

That's crazy! There were only 100 places for Spring in general and 875 for Summer so I guess that meant just over 1/5 got a place. Yeah! It starts a day after my birthday, which I'm buzzing about. March-April seems like busy months in general for Oxbridge outreach.

Does anybody know about the sleeping arrangements at Uniq? And more information about it?
Yeh, on the UNIQ website (http://www.uniq.ox.ac.uk/page/your-time-oxford) under accommodation they say:

"Each UNIQ student is allocated to a University of Oxford college so you can experience life in one for yourself. You’ll have your own private study bedroom and eat most of your meals in college with other UNIQ students. UNIQ staff will be on duty 24 hours a day to make sure you are safe and comfortable."

You too! It'll be so much fun - so excited to get a taster of Oxford's teaching styles.
