As we are hearing al over the news, with school shootings becoming increasingly pressing, more and more of the students' safety is falling into the hand of teachers. How do you think this added responsibility on the teacher will affect the learning environment, how does it affect you as a student, and what can we do about it?

Arming teachers won't do anything. If for whatever reason this actually happened by the time the teacher got any sort of firearm out of a most likely locked, hidden cabinet, they'd be dead 9/10. The teachers in Parkland were killed trying to shut doors, not sure why people think that arming teachers would even remotely help.
Tell me again arming teachers is a good idea?
We can try to make schools as safe as possible here, but the truth is nothing is going to stop until we adjust our laws. I had a police officer in my high school all 4 years and threats were still made, we (the students) had a bigger impact in ending fights, rumors, etc in school then he ever did. We can hide in the corner with the lights off trying to figure out if we're gonna go home today but literally nothing will help until we actually adjust laws.
