Hello everyone, i’m an italian student and starting from september 2018 i’ll be studying for nine months at the University of Edinburgh, my professor and friends told me there is a good environment and the city is beautiful. Anyone who would like to share his/her experiences or thoughts? Is it a friendly place? How is student life in Edinburgh?

    Yes. It's friendly.

You're going to have to be a bit more specific with your questions

Yes you are right i should be more specific. I wanted to know if people at the University of Edinburgh are easygoing and friendly. A friend of mine spent some months at Birmingham University but her experience was terrible, most of citizens and students were unfriendly and had prejudices on foreners. But i heard that Edinburgh is more open minded and it is possible to make friends. Can anyone suggest me places to go/clubs to join in order to do so?

I don't tend to go clubbing, but I've heard Hive is quite popular amongst students.

Edinburgh is a lot more international AFAIK compared to Birmingham, and everyone seems to be friendly.

The best way to make friends is to talk to as many people as possible during your introductory lectures and society events, add them on Facebook and keep the conversation going :borat:
