    Hello,
As part of our degree we have to go on an mapping project in the summer between 2nd and 3rd year. We have opted to go to Almeria in SE Spain and have been advised to stay in either El Cortijo Grande, Mojacer and Turre. The problem however is we are finding it impossible (hours of searching) to find a suitable property (sleeps 4 and has parking, accepts single sex groups etc.) within a reasonable budget. The initial budget of £50 a week per person has been stretched to £70pppw. Has anyone done a similar thing before or have any ideas about what we can do? Or does anyone know of any companies we could contact? Thanks J.

I'm guessing that you'll have gone through airbnb etc already. Have you spoken to any of your professors about this? SE Spain is a very popular area for teaching geology so people in your department will definitely have contacts there who might be able to advise you about places to stay. £70pppw does strike me as quite low if you're in a touristy area (I paid almost double that for mine, although it wasn't in Spain) but I don't know, it might still be possible.

You could consider camping if all else fails, although that's obviously not ideal.

Edit: Also I swear Mojacar is really expensive?
