i mean this:

Estimate median = (30) + 145/570 × 10

OK so you knowthe median is between 30 and 40? They have used interpolation ...

570 = 1810 - 1240 [CF of 40 - CF of 30]
145 = 1385 - 1240 [where the median is - previous CF]

10 is that group width
