    Hi,
    I am currently attempting to finish my probability homework and am stuck on the last question. Pretty much, I need to solve this equation to find 'p(B)'.
    I don't recall ever solving an equation like this and can't find any relevant old notes.

    Can anyone explain to me how to solve this equation, please:
    (x-0.25x) = 0.53

    x=1x, so 1x-0.25x=0.53

    You factorise like this:

    α(1-0.25)=0.53
    α(0.75)=0.53
    So 0.75α=0.53

    Where α is x
