I started my 1st year of uni 14/15 on a 4 year sandwich course. After my first year I switched courses and that used up my "gift year". I then failed my second year following that and couldn't get funding to repeat the year. I've had to defer for the year to weigh out my options. Does anybody know what the funding circumstances will be if I switched to a 3 year course but had advanced entry into 2nd year? Cheers

How many years funding have you had? I count 3?

If you’ve had three years then you only have 1 year funding left (length of new course (3) + gift year (1) - previous study (3)). That would be the third year of a three year course.

You would still get a maintenance loan for second year. It’s worth speaking to universities to find out if they’re able to offer discounts/fee waivers on part-all of your second year fees.
