Factors affecting diffusion question
Can someone help me to solve this question please?
Oxygen diffuses through 10 cm2 of an alveolus wall at 0.01 μg/s.
a) Calculate the overall rate of diffusion if the surface area is tripled.
b) Calculate the overall rate of diffusion if the surface area is halved.
c) Calculate the rate of diffusion per cm2 for the conditions in a) and b).
This is from the Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Biology textbook (SB8b -- Factors affecting diffusion page 164 question 6).
