Well done on the offer Keiron. Let's hope you get one from SOAS too - then you got to decide.

Well done on successfully scaring him Kim.

Well I'm off to Setagaya next summer to study at Seijo daigaku.

Lot of positives and negatives about me studying there... Hopefully if I don't feck my exams up I'll see you in my fourth year you little babies you...
You need to push them Jack or they'll just take their time. Honest. I rammed it down their throats - whatever needs to get done to get them to send it. Bloody inadequate staff eh?

Setagaya? Where's that? Yes when I start in my 1st year, you'll be away so I'll see you when I'm in my 2nd I think? Yer that's right.

Wow! There is so much information in this thread. It's been really helpful.

I just got a conditional (ABB) offer for Management and Japanese. Do you know if they arrange open days for you once you've got an offer. I haven't actually been up there yet and there isn't another open day until June. Despite that though, I think Sheffield will be my 1st choice.

Huh, my school was the opposite. My tutor did my reference and was nagging me for ages to send it off. I think it only went through like on monday.

Yer super thread ain't it? Full of psychos.

Wahooooooo go you, well done. I loved getting offers. They do arrange Open Days - you should get sent stuff and there's specific Open Day for Japanese where you get a more specific talk, and talk from some students who are very honest, and you get to see first years' work etc. Didn't get that in the first general Open Day. Don't know about Management though I'm afraid. I'd advise you go to it - I think there's like 3 or 4 dates in Feb, March etc. I think you get an accommodation tour too (apply for Endcliffe ).

I liked the place. Lots of parks. Actually someone who's just started this year who I talk to said this: "Sheffield is brilliant. It contains everything you want without all the chiff or chaff. The uni is excellent, and really caters for students well; some things could be a bit cheaper, but it could be much worse. Very good societies, very good atmosphere, very good city. Love it, I'm sure you'll be the same." So sounds good.

Sheffield your first? Maybe see you there then. May I ask where else you've applied?

Don't hound the poor boy :lolwut:
Psh. Fine. I suppose curiosity actually can be misconstrued as nosiness. Never thought of that. Huh.

Catacle - no need to reply to where you're applying. Kim has now scarred me and I don't need to know your answer. Good luck though.

I want to know though. You can tell me.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! You're cruel.

Let's talk about Japanese at Sheffield to get it on track.

My friend likes it.

lol, don't worry, I'de be happy to tell you. :yep: I've applied to Edinburgh, Leeds, SOAS and Sheffield. I never really wanted to go to either Edinburgh or Leeds but I didn't want to just apply to two places. I've been to an open day at SOAS and wasn't really that impressed. It had great facilities but the Japanese talk was pretty uninspriring. The speakers had no charisma what so ever.

So... yea, I guess what I'm trying to say is Sheffield FTW!

I agree and now love you. Have you heard anything from Leeds or Edinburgh yet? I haven't applied for SOAS and as such don't really care. :P

 Haven't heard anything from anyone else yet but I did only apply like 5 or 6 days ago. I was quite amazed to get an offer from Sheffield so quickly.
True - my only real choices were SOAS and Sheffield. Hard to choose between the 2 as I was not expecting to get into SOAS at all so I was proper thrown off. Yer in SOAS, oh dear, my friend was falling asleep on my shoulder and I raised my left arm (as she was on my right) to fluff up my hair, and the lecturer thought I had a question so asked if I did and everyone turned to look at us; me slouched and my friend half asleep. Suffice to say after some giggling I don't think I make a good impression. Yer no charisma at all. The tutors at Sheffield are really nice I think.

Well you never know. May hate Sheffield and go to SOAS. Time will tell eh.

So many people apply to Edinburgh :s-smilie:
