    Work out times where you'll both be able to talk if there's a timezone difference. While messaging while the other is busy/asleep so they can reply later on is fine, it's no good if it's the entirety of your communication. ou really have to put an effort into keeping in touch with them, but as long as you're both willing and able to put in that effort it's usually okay
