What aspect are you struggling with? Is it the general coming up with an idea or including techniques

I have an AQA English language GCSE coming up in may, and I am struggling on paper 1 Q5 preparing a creative story with two characters. I find it hard and I need a great story to get them 40 marks. Can you help.

Usually with Q5 they’ll give you some starting point for example “write a narrative about someone from opposing backgrounds” (last years GCSE question)or a picture. I’d advise coming up with a generic idea that you can apply to any situation given, this will be easier if it’s something that Interests you. Something as simple as reminiscing an old memory can get you the 40 marks as long as you use a range of techniques.

My teacher often advices doing these things below:

-Range of sentence structures
-keep the story relatively simple
-Build up to a tense peak
-Don’t end the narrative with “it was all a dream”
-use a wide range of language but keep it relevant

Some ideas:

-meeting an old friend who you’ve not seen in years
-seeing a mysterious/intriguing character
-Being lost somewhere (this is easily applied to any scene) and having to seek out help
-Experiencing a harsh storm and taking up shelter with a stranger

I hope this is some kind of help, sorry if it’s not
