Is this a bragging thread for how much you can afford to spend on (presumably) your first car?

Spending £25k on a car at 18- and particularly as a new driver- is stupid. Get a ford fiesta or something for a year or two.

25k is a lot to spend on a car for someone with pretty much no preference other than generic things such as a sunroof and LED headlights. Sounds like a basic car will do for you.

That and it makes no sense for a new driver to be spending that much.

Why are you both antagonizing him, he gave you his budget for a car and insurance so its not just for his first car.

He gave you a budget so either give him some options or shutup.

Not a lot of info to go off mind.

Are you sure you want to spend that much on a car given it’s your first one?

He’s a new driver and is prepared to spend £25,000 on the car + insurance.

It’s extortionate is all they’re saying.

Oh apologies, I thought this was a forum where members were allowed to express their opinions.

Budgeting £25k for a first car is madness. I'm not going to pretend it isn't because saying it upsets people like you.

He could be loaded, you dont know his life story.

If i had 100's of thousands i would have a great first car.

Let the boy enjoy his first car instead of buyign your typical micra, up, corsa.

Of course he could be, my post wasn't about whether £25,000 is material to him or not.

He could be able to afford a LaFerrari as his first car. Does that mean its a good idea?

Yes a ferrari would be a great idea, and above you said is this a bragging thread, he gave you his budget work with it or dont complain.

He is trying to get help and your first response is about him bragging.

OP, just look at car dealer websites near where you live and if you like the look of one - look at the review of them online?

Price of car; look for around £20,000 (an expensive car for a first time driver will have a few thousand pounds of insurance without a black box).

If you want to spend that then go for it.
