How do I analyse an extract of macbeth at a grade 8/9 level?

Pick out language and say what effects in has on the reader.

Also try to suggest why the character is speaking in a certain manner and link it to the time the play was written (so if you were looking at Lady Macbeth you would say that in Shakespearean times women were seen as second class citizens and she was atypical to her time because she wanted to take on the role of a man 'unsex me here').

Try to identify language techniques in the text and again say what the effect of this is on the reader.

Always use quotes to back up your points. And dont over complicate your answers as you may lose marks for this.
