Does physchology help with medicine and UKCAT test?

So I’m deciding my A levels and I’m not sure what to do, I’m really interested in science and I do quite well in school and there’s an option to do physchology so I was wondering If physchology helps with medicine and UKCAT test?
Psychology* - and I guess it won't really because it's not as science based like medicine is. The only thing similar is biological psychology but that's only one small unit. I'm not an expert in medicine courses but I can't see it being too useful.
Psychology in terms of the A-level is neither a benefit nor hindrance compared to any other subject (with the exception of at Cambridge, and possibly Oxford, as they realistically require at least 3 STEM A-level subjects, and A-level Psychology is not considered a science by Cambridge). You may want to consider the opportunity cost of taking that as opposed to something else - there may be something you are better at and/or enjoy more, which you are more likely to do well in and thus get the necessary A/A* to pursue medicine.

In terms of the profession itself, psychology and psychiatry are generally relevant in any specialty (except maybe pathology...) but the clinically relevant material will be covered in the medical degree, and they will presume no prior background in psychology. In fact it's unlikely A-level Psychology will even provide any relevant background material for this more specialised content covered in the medical degree...

Ultimately, if you're interested in it, and motivated to do well in it, it's a fine choice. However if you want to apply to Cambridge you should take Maths or Physics to make a competitive application, for anywhere else it won't make a difference though, to my knowledge.

No, it won't help with either.

Bio and Chem, plus third subject of your choice is enough.*

*For UKCAT unis
