    Hi there,

I applied to Cambridge, education related masters.
I was invited to the interview like a week or 10 days after my application submission. Then I had the interview, and after three days I already got rejection email. Isn´t this a bit rare to happen?

I thought I was well-prepared, I think I answered quite thoroughly, and their questions were just normal, like research plan, etc. Actually an interviewer even said to me "You know all well, so what would you expect to get in the masters degree?" Just one thing that I think I did not answer well was a question of who or what project I want to closely work with. I think there was more suitable team for my interest, but I said some another team not with many details. But I don't think this was very critical to ignore all other good answers. They seemed to be interested in my research plans, and they seemed to agree with my idea. At the end they said it takes normally 2 weeks for graduate office to verify all my documents and send an offer, maybe up to 3 weeks. One also mentioned that he studied or worked together with the professor who wrote a recommendation letter for me.

Well, my IELTS score was, as total, higher than the qualification but for writing, 0.5 less than that. The university answered that I can apply with the current score, and if the graduate office tells me to retake the test, then I can do that. So I just submitted with the score.

I don't know. It is not my #1 school, but rejection email after 3 days is quick enough to embarrass me, I guess. Any comments or guess?

3 days is fairly normal for a decision.

You need to ask for feedback about why you were rejected. They have notes from your interview. Don’t guess at the reasons.
