    I like maths very much however also would not mind doing an applied degree. Assuming i score 70+ on the MAT on which course would i have a higher chance of acceptance also if i were to write a maths and stats ps would i have to make it really evident about the stats or could i continue talking about pure maths.

    Write your PS to satisfy all your choices, not specifically for Oxford. (You have a common first year at Oxford anyway including elements of stats).

    PSs aren't generally very important for maths admissions.
