Hi, I’ve been having pain in my breastbone for The past week or so. I also feel quite breathless, like I always need that tiny bit more air for my lungs to fill. The pain comes and goes and is sharp and then numbs a bit, sharp then numbs etc.
I find it hurts most when lifting things...
I’m 16 and healthy weight and do enough sport etc.
I would go to the GP but don’t want to waste their time...
Any ideas what it could be?

Many potential causes. Breathing difficulties should always be checked out. See the GP.

you wouldn't be wasting their time.
you're best getting checked over.
it could just be a pulled muscle etc. try taking ibuprofen (make sure that you can first)

Usually heart related pain is dull and more like pressure in your chest, arms or jaw.
Sharp pain indicates that it is probably the intercostal or subcostal muscles.
I honestly doubt there is anything to worry about because myself, and most of my friends have gotten this feeling from time to time.
Obviously mine is personal opinion and I have went to my GP several times, so do seek real help with your doctor.
