    Hello everyone,

I'm a US undergraduate student hoping to start a postgrad program in Edinburgh this coming September and would appreciate some advice!

I submitted an application for the MSc in Middle Eastern Studies with Arabic program at the end of December, and have yet to hear back. I am also interested in the MSc in Religious Studies, as well as the MSc in contemporary history as both of these offer enough overlap with their respective option courses for me to pursue my specific interests.

I was wondering specifically what the downsides might be of submitting a second application to one of these other programs - either contemporary history or religion. I am concerned that this may impact my current application, or make me look unfocused etc.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have!
